The engine air filter is a paper element that reduces harmful dirt particles from entering the engine where they can do damage. The dirtier the air filter, the more the airflow to the engine is restricted. Reduced air flow leads to poor acceleration, reduced engine performance and reduced fuel economy (MPG).

NOTE: Particles which get past a dirty or old air filter and into the combustion chamber can cause severe damage and premature engine wear, as well as reduce fuel economy and decrease engine performance.
The cabin air filter in your vehicle works the same as the furnace filter in your home. It removes all kinds of pollen, dust, soot and odors that enter your vehicle. Cabin filters are particularly beneficial for people with allergies since they do an effective job of removing allergens from the air. A clean cabin air filter will let you breathe easier.

NOTE: Particles which get past your cabin air filter can release contaminants into your heating, venting and air conditioning systems.
